The Canadian rockies is an incredibly beautiful area. I was experimenting with a post-processing technique recently, and decided to share the results. HDR stands for 'high dynamic range', which is usually achieved by taking a series of photos of the same thing using different exposure settings, and then putting them together to create a higher tonal range than the camera is normally able to capture. These ones were done using a single shot. This is not a technique that I normally use, although I will be including it in a workshop that I will be doing in the near future. These photos were taken during a trip to Kananaskis in the summer of '09. For some fantastic examples of HDR images, check out Trey Ratcliff's work at www.stuckincustoms.com.
