About Me
what I do
the most common question people ask me when I tell them that I am a photographer is ‘what kind of stuff do you shoot?’. It always seems like a difficult question to answer. I can say ‘I shoot weddings, engagements, families, children, events, artists… you know, real people.' However, that doesn’t even begin to describe what I do.
I am more of an artist than a photographer. Whenever I do a shoot, no matter what it is, I want to create something that is unique and beautiful. All artists need inspiration - something to light the creative fire. I do photograph real people, but they are not just subjects in a photograph - they are the spark and source of my inspiration. And because no two people are the same, every shoot I do ends up being something very personal and different.
The artistic process does not end inside the camera. I use post-processing to enhance the images I take and to add a personal style in a way that reflects the individuality of each shoot.
who I am
a few facts about me: I live in Hong Kong. My background is in design. I am from Alberta, Canada. I am over 27 and under 35. I love animals. I have donated my services and work to numerous charities. I am fascinated by nearly everything that I see. I am married (no kids yet). I play guitar (poorly). I like to drink coffee in the morning. Ummm… that’s all I can think of for now. Your wedding day is a story that is told moment by moment. My goal when photographing a wedding is to tell that story as beautifully as possible.
engagement
Engagement shoots give couples the opportunity to do a more casual shoot without the pressure of their wedding day. I never pose people or tell them to smile and say ‘cheese’; I only invite them to reveal something true.
beloved
Beloved photo sessions are designed for any couple that would like to commemorate a point along their long and beautiful relationship. They are a chance for two people to explore and express their love for each other.
families
Families remind me of the famous saying; ‘you can never step into the same river twice’. People are always and forever changing, and the relationships they have with each are evolving as well. No two families are alike, and no family is the same from one year to the next.
children
The unrestrained smiles and laughter of children is a wondrous thing. Though photographing them can sometimes feel more like a sporting event than a photo shoot, they never cease to amaze.
events
Every event, not matter how big or how small, has its own unique energy. As a photographer I try to capture the atmosphere of every event in a different way.
artists
Artists come in many forms; they may be creators of objects, interpreter of dreams, poets of movement, explorers of thought, or any number of things. One quality that is present in all of them is the passion for doing what they do.
